For broadacre cropping farmers our 70/30 SMS Guano/Ammonium Sulphate blend is very popular each year. This year the price is around the mid $800’s. Farmers see this blend as similar to MAP and applying at a similar rate. The bonus is the extra Sulphur but also the good trace element levels in Guano.  We always enjoy working closely with farmers through soil and plant testing and providing custom blends to suit your soil test and crop or pasture.

Also popular is broadcasting Ammonium Sulphate before the seasonal break rather than Urea during the growing season. We have good stocks available at competitive prices.

For any who are looking to do some soil test we have kits with all the instructions, bags and gloves, that we can post out. A very comprehensive report and recommendations are provided which we can then discuss in detail.

We can only hope for a much better rainfall year for SA and Western Victoria. I heard one Mid North farmer say, “there is no one presently alive who has seen it this bad before”. I believe that it is best not to listen to long term forecasts only to be let down but rather to remain positive as history always shows that good seasons will return.
